- Where is the house located?
- The house is located in the center of Marathon. The exact address is not disclosed for security purposes. The house is located at the top of Boot Key Harbor.
- When is check-in and check-out?
- Check in is 4PM ET and check out is 10AM ET unless pre-arranged otherwise with the Owner in advance. Late check outs may be subject to docking of the deposit.
- The exact address, and check in instructions will be provided 2 days prior to check in
- What is the cancellation policy and payment terms?
- 60 day cancellation policy (full refund if reservation cancelled by renter 60 or more days before the scheduled check-in). We strongly recommend obtaining Trip/Cancellation insurance for your trip, or if you are concerned about possible cancellation or if you're concerned about a hurricane. The link to trip insurance will be sent to you after you secure a booking. Security/Damage Deposit $300 is due to reserve the property; Balance will be due 60 days prior to check-in date. For reservations made 60 days or less prior to check-in date, the entire amount (which includes the $300 Deposit) is due immediately.Deposit refunded within 14 days after check-out if there are no damages or excessive cleaning required (See the Rental Agreement for more details).
- Rental Agreement signed by primary Guest and copy of valid photo ID are required if you decide to book. If the required is not returned within 72 hours from booking acceptance, we reserve the right to cancel your booking and issue a refund.
- What's the nearest boat ramp?
- There is a public boat ramp Gulf side on 33rd street. There's a marina called Vacation Boat Rentals 2 canals away that charges (I think) $20 per pull.
- Boat and bike rental recommendations?
- Wheels2Go is near the house and will drop off and pick up any type of water toy and bike you can imagine.
- What's included at the house?
- We include a starter kit of paper items and toiletries. After those are expended the guest is responsible for replenishing. We try to supply things like coolers and beach chairs, but those often don't make it back to the rental so I can't guarantee them. No bicycles or baby items are supplied at the houses.
- Is there a grill?
- The grill is a Weber charcoal, guests supply their own charcoal. Clean the grill after use.
- What's included at the house?
- We include a starter kit of paper items and toiletries. After those are expended the guest is responsible for replenishing. We try to supply things like coolers and beach chairs, but those often don't make it back to the rental so I can't guarantee them.
- What kind of coffee machine?
- We have a drip Mr. Coffee with coffee filters included. Coffee and fixins not included.
- What kind of payments are accepted?
- Payments accepted: personal or cashiers check, money order (at least 60 days prior to check in date), major credit cards and PayPal. Credit Card Processing fees may apply.
- What are the general house rules?
- Minimum rental period is 7 nights. No smoking on premisis at all, or a retention of security deposit will occur. No unauthorized pets, no house parties or unregistered guests on the property.Must be at least 25 years of age to rent, and be present during the entire stay (No third party rentals). Minors under 18 can only stay with parent, legal guardian or responsible adult, and must never be left at the property unsupervised. No occupancy above 6 persons (which includes adults and children ages 0 and up).
- Marathon City defines quiet hours from 10pm-7am on week days and 11pm-7am on weekends.
- Trash goes out Fridays and Mondays, Recycling is Wednesdays. Code enforcements asks that you leave the trash cans next to the house WITH the tops on them until 6pm the day before pick up. Do not put any plastic trash bags in the recycling bins or it will not be picked up. Please bring your trash out.
- Rinse off sandy feet/gear outside with the hose (not down the drain).
- The pipes are sensitive. Please no grease,coffee grinds, sand, or anything else that may seem like a bad idea down the drains.
- Use only your half of the driveway and your half of the dock. The houses are duplexes and the other side is likely also rented out.
- Is there WiFi?
- WIFI is available via Comcast (connection speed and availability is not guaranteed).
- What's the parking/dock situation?
- Property has 2 long parking spots. It can fit maximum of 2 cars and 1 trailer, or 4 cars. The dock can accommodate up to a 24' boat.
- Use only your half of the driveway and your half of the dock. The houses are duplexes and the other side is likely also rented out.
